We are delighted to announce the appointment of Tamara Dexter as the new Chief Executive Officer at Ambition Education Trust, effective from January 2027.

Tamara brings over 20 years experience in academy trust leadership, school improvement and system-wide educational development. She joins us from Futura Learning Partnership, a 26 school multi-academy trust in the West of England, where she is Education Director.

Tamara's appointment comes at an exciting time of growth for Ambition following the recent addition of St Albans City School and we look forward to welcoming her to our community.

Welcome to Ambition Education Trust. AET is a cross-phase Trust and currently comprises 11 schools situated in Hertfordshire, across St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and Hemel Hempstead. There are four primaries, one infants, one junior and five secondary schools with over 800 staff delivering high-quality education to over 7500 young people from the ages 3 to 18. This is a huge privilege and one we take seriously, to achieve our central aim of Educational Excellence for All.

While each of our schools is unique, our collaborative style of working with mutual challenge, support and partnership enables all schools to thrive and continue our aim for each school to be a centre of excellence. There is considerable experience within our central team which, combined with the collaboration between the ten schools provides significant opportunities to share resources and provide a level of professional operation available in medium to larger Trusts.

The Trust is led by Alan Gray CEO, ably supported by Amy Barclay CPFO and a core Trust team. The central team provides Finance, HR, IT, Operations and Education services for all schools. Most importantly, the headteachers are central to shaping the direction of our work helping to build Ambition Education Trust.

This is an exciting chapter in the history of our schools as we continue our drive to provide the very best educational provision for everyone and deliver the best outcomes for our young people. We are committed to improving what we do and growing as a result, to provide a resilient and sustainable organisation able to meet the future demands of our education system.
